Sound Massage
the SoundBody Method™
Vibrational Healing with Singing Bowls on the body
A gentle path to mind/body Alignment
What is Sound Massage?
Imagine the sound of a singing bowl not just surrounding you, but moving gently through your body.
Sound Massage is an intimate vibrational experience using therapeutic-grade Peter Hess singing bowls, gently placed directly on and around the body and activated with a soft tap.
Unlike a traditional sound bath, where sound and vibration fill the space around you, Sound Massage allows you to experience vibration through direct physical contact.
The result can be surprisingly profound.
The vibration is subtle—yet deeply felt.
Many people describe the experience as a sense of melting, settling, spaciousness, warmth, or deep internal quiet. As the bowls resonate, your attention naturally moves away from the constant activity of the outside world and toward the sensations within your body.
For many, this becomes an invitation to slow down, release tension, and reconnect with a deeper sense of ease.
Feel the sound. Feel the vibration. Feel yourself come back to center.
A Different Way to Experience Sound
The human body is remarkably responsive to vibration.
Touch, pressure, rhythm, and sound are continually being interpreted by the nervous system. When the body receives gentle rhythmic stimulation in a safe and relaxing environment, it can help shift attention away from stress and toward rest.
With Sound Massage, the bowl becomes both a sound source and a source of tactile vibration.
You hear the tone.
You feel the resonance.
You notice your breathing.
And gradually, there may be less effort to do anything at all.
This is where the experience becomes particularly beautiful: rather than trying to force relaxation, you are giving your nervous system an environment in which relaxation can naturally occur.
What Happens During a Sound Massage?
You remain fully clothed and comfortably supported while the singing bowls are placed on or near different areas of the body.
Krista gently activates (taps) the bowls, allowing each one to produce its sustained tone and vibration. During the session, singing bowls are moved to different areas of the back and front of the body, including hangs and feet. Off body techniques and bowl placement are dependent on your goals and physical needs.
There is no need to meditate, concentrate, visualize, or “do it right.”
Simply receive.
As the session progresses, you may notice:
Deep physical relaxation
A quieter, less active mind
Changes in breathing
A sense of heaviness or lightness
Tingling or subtle waves of vibration
Relaxation in areas that have been holding tension
Emotional responses or memories naturally arising
A feeling of spaciousness or inner stillness
A deeply restful or meditative state
Every body responds differently. There is no particular experience you are supposed to have.
Health Considerations
Sound Massage is offered as a complementary wellness and relaxation practice, not as a diagnosis or treatment for medical or psychological conditions.
Research on music therapy and vibration-based interventions suggests potential benefits for areas including anxiety, pain, sleep, and relaxation. However, research specifically on singing bowls is still developing.
If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device, have significant sensory or neurological concerns, or have another condition that may make vibration uncomfortable or inappropriate, please consult your healthcare professional before receiving Sound Massage.
My Experience With Sound
I've been facilitating sound baths for 11 years, and I've experienced firsthand how profoundly people can respond to sound.
But Sound Massage has left me with my jaw dropped in amazement.
There is something extraordinary about feeling the vibration directly through the body.
Clients have shared experiences of:
Pain relief • Deeper sleep • Emotional release • Reduced tension • Greater sense of calm • Mental clarity • Deep relaxation • A sense of being grounded
Every experience is different—and that's part of the beauty.
Your body gets to have its own conversation with the sound.
An Invitation to Receive
You don't have to understand vibration.
You don't have to believe in energy healing.
You don't have to know how to meditate.
You don't have to do anything.
Simply lie down.
Breathe.
Listen.
Feel.
Allow the sound to meet you exactly where you are.
Sometimes healing begins when we finally stop trying to make ourselves heal.
Peace resides within you.
It's time to embody it.
